Some International SOS Trivia:

1. The pharmacy here sells products over the counter that are not available without prescription in the US including birth control pills (both international brands like Nordette and local brands) and Tretinoin (Retin A).
2. A Hepatitis A & B shot (Twinrix) here cost 970 per injection, and you will need a series of 3.
3. Optometrist speaks excellent English. Don't have to worry about your eye charts having characters like this: 白天冷。
4. At the moment this is not in the direct billing program for CBG/TieCare a common health insurance provider for many multinationals, so you may need to pay out of pocket and get a fapiao. (Beijing United Family Hospital and Clincs is on direct billing for CBG/TieCare, FYI)

1. (A) International SOS - The hospital can be a little hard to find - make sure to go off Sanlitun Jie and the entry to the International SOS is behind the entry to the BITIC Jingyi building. It is across the street from the Spanish Embassy.
2. (B) Friendship Supermarket - Buy western goods like cereal and chocolate, as well as a good selection of DVDs.
3. (C) BITIC Jingyi Building - entrance to the international SOS compound.
